The Dreamer

Let the approach be made in humbleness of heart, seeking not that as of self but as your Lord, your God, your Savior would have you do.

Based on Edgar Cayce reading 1125-3

While he stood there waiting, he reflected on his life. Many significant events could be marked by his dreams.

He had come down to breakfast one morning glowing over two dreams. The first one contained an image of him as a star. He had seen the sun, moon, and eleven other stars bowing down to him. The second concerned harvest time. He had set a sheaf of wheat in the field and the sheaves his brothers had made bowed down to his. He felt pleased with his interpretations of those dreams, although his family’s anger over his pride had somewhat spoiled the moment.

Much later, in prison, he had interpreted dreams for two of pharaoh’s servants. Their dreams had come to pass.

Now he was standing before pharaoh. He knew pharaoh’s dreams were important ones, and he knew something about himself now as well. He had learned about humility and God’s presence in his life.

When pharaoh asked if he were the one who had interpreted his servants’ dreams, Joseph answered, “Only God can interpret dreams. But tell me your dream. God will give pharaoh a favorable answer.”

As pharaoh spoke, Joseph could sense the insight coming from the divine power that had sustained him for these past several years. God’s answer would be ready for the pharaoh.

APPLICATION: The next time you are looking for answers to a question, know that those who open to God with sincere hearts will find answers.
